Security Council Authorizes International Force in Gaza

The Security Council adopted a resolution endorsing the United States-backed “Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict”, welcoming the establishment of the “Board of Peace” and authorizing the Board and Member States working with it to establish a temporary International Stabilization Force in Gaza to operate until the end of 2027. The vote on the resolution was 13 in favor and 2 abstentions (China and Russia).
